Two brothers were charged with transporting narcotics, after the kidnapping of 193 kilograms of cocaine found in an overturned truck on provincial route 53, in a place in northern Salta, judicial sources reported.

The federal judge of Guarantees 1 of Salta, Julio Bavio, granted the requested criminal charges against the brothers Héctor and Damián Pereyra, for the crime of transporting narcotics.

The request was made by federal prosecutor Ricardo Toranzos, in charge of the Complex Cases Area of the Salta Fiscal Unit, within the framework of an investigation that began when a Mitsubishi truck was found overturned on provincial route 53, near the area. Corral Quemado, between the towns of Embarcación and Hickman, in the north of Salta.

When presenting the case, Toranzos revealed how the two accused were linked to the drugs and said that, upon finding the vehicle, police personnel began actions with the intervention of the provincial prosecutor of Embarcación, Gabriela Souto, who ordered measures for the search in hospitals at the scene of possible people injured in the accident.

The prosecutor added that, given the suspicion that the truck could have been used for some illegal activity, the search was ordered with an anti-narcotics cannon, a measure that was positive and led the prosecutor to order the intervention of federal prosecutor assistant Rafael Rafael. Lamas, from the Tartagal Decentralized Headquarters.

Toranzos narrated that, for this reason, the truck was restored to its original position in order to advance with a more in-depth search, which made it possible to find the double bottom built in the floor of the vehicle, from which 181 packages of drugs with different brands were extracted. , with just over 193 kilos of cocaine.

During the hearing, the prosecutor indicated that the vehicle appeared linked to a case investigated by the Complex Cases Area, since last February 1, based on a series of indications and clues provided by the Salta Information Gathering Unit of the National Gendarmerie.

Then, he commented that the object of that investigation was the development of a group of people who obtained drugs in Bolivia, which were then transferred to the towns of Embarcación or Pichanal, in the north of Salta, as a stopover, and from there, to Buenos Aires. Aires
