Mushtaq’s entrepreneurial journey began with AskforTask, a platform that helped define the early Canadian gig economy by connecting people with trusted “Taskers” for everyday services. It was through this experience that he learned the art of building teams, attracting investment, and creating something out of nothing. Those years established a reputation: a founder who could take an idea from concept to scale, and unite the right people behind it. Today, that same philosophy drives Airzai, the company he co-founded in 2019. Airzai has been described by some in  the industry as the “Tesla of scent diffusers,” and it is easy to see why. Its flagship product, Airzai Aroma, is not  just a diffuser. It is a smart device that uses AI and scent science to help people shape the mood and atmosphere of their environments. Using machine learning and natural fragrances, the system responds to the user’s environment in real time, creating a personalised and elevated experience. “We are a tech company that happens to be in the scenting business,” Mushtaq says. “We’re not here to compete with traditional fragrance companies. We are building partnerships and opening new distribution channels to build something entirely new.” To achieve this vision, Mushtaq has assembled an impressive group of designers, engineers and scientists, including Fred Bould, the renowned designer behind products like the Nest thermostat and GoPro cameras. Together, the team is reimagining the role of scent in everyday life, turning it into something personalised, intuitive and intelligent. This vision has attracted strong interest and growing demand. Early response to the Airzai Aroma has been  exceptional, with partnerships and distribution agreements already being explored globally. For Mushtaq, however,  the technology is only one part of the equation. The deeper mission is about wellness. This focus on purpose has taken him far beyond the startup world. In 2024, Mushtaq was invited to join a global  delegation on artificial intelligence at the Vatican, where he met Pope Francis and presented the potential of  AI-driven wellness technology. That invitation reflected not just his technical achievements, but also a recognition  of his ability to think about the human implications of innovation. Alongside his work at Airzai, Mushtaq founded “CEO of Our Life,” a platform aimed at helping people take ownership of their own futures. Through this initiative, he has mentored emerging entrepreneurs and contributed to initiatives that have provided more than two million meals to those in need. From the early lessons of building AskforTask to his current position at the forefront of AI-powered wellness,  Mushtaq’s story is one of persistence and vision. By bridging cutting-edge technology with a clear sense of purpose, he is showing how innovation can be about more than just products – it can be about improving the quality of life. With Airzai, Muneeb Mushtaq is betting that the future of wellness lies at the meeting point of data, design and  human insight. Judging by the momentum so far, that bet appears well-placed
